A guide to my favourite places to eat and drink in the Highlands of Scotland.

I've been thinking for a while about teaching myself some basic HTML by writing a website about one of my interests. I initially thought that this would be hillwalking, but my hillwalking friends were far more interested in my experience of Highland hotels, pubs and cafes.

So here goes! I've listed my various favourites according to the sections of Munro's tables, along with a few thoughts on some hills where I've got something to say which isn't said everywhere else. I've also included a section on apres Munro places in Edinburgh (this is likely to be of most use to people who live somewhere near Dalry - the restaurants near my flat are sufficiently good that I rarely venture further afield!)

The walks (listed by section of Munro's Tables)

Section 0 - The Southern Uplands

Section 1 - Loch Lomond to Loch Tay

Section 2 - River Tay to Rannoch Moor

Section 3 - Strath Orchy to Loch Leven

Section 4 - Loch Linnhe to Loch Ericht

Section 5 - The Drumochter Hills

Section 6 - The West Mounth: Blair Atholl to Braemar

Section 7 - The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen

Section 8 - The Cairngorms

Section 9 - Glen Roy to the Monadhliath

Section 10 - Loch Eil to Glen Shiel

Section 11 - Glen Affric and Kintail

Section 12 - Glen Cannich to Glen Carron

Section 13 - Coulin and Torridon
